Digital Ebook: RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT: The City Council's Finance Committee heard details Monday about a proposed $20 million condominium/retail development on Quincy's riverfront that would require $666,645 worth of public infrastructure improvements to be paid by the city.

In additon, the developers are asking that the complex be included in the Quincy/Adams County Enterprise Zone, which would allow real estate tax abatements for up to five years for both the commercial and residential properties.

CITY COUNCIL: The Quincy City Council voted 8 to 5 Monday to reject a proposal to grant local landmark status to St. Boniface Church. The council acted after hearing emotional pleas from 10 different speakers, most of whom tried to pursuade aldermen to grant landmark status despite the objections of the Roman Catholic diocese, which opposed the measure.
