Once you have list of different aspects of the subject, put them into a logical order. For example, if you are writing on the general subject of dogs, you could write an ebook about different dog breeds, or the various points that judges look for in dog shows. Put them into the correct order, then you have your chapter list.

It is now a simple matter of writing each chapter. Keep in mind that ebooks are read differently to hard books and that your chapters should be shorter. It is more tiring on the eyes to read from a screen than a printed page, and you should ideally write in chapters of from 4 ? 6 lines of 18 ? 20 words per line on average. This will make it easier on the eye.

You are writing both to provide useful information to your readers, and to persuade them that you are a master of your subject. Many people will sign your opt-in form only to get the free book, with little intention of answering your emails, and the likely intention of unsubscribing from the first e-mail you send them. You have to persuade them in your e-book that it is to their advantage to keep receiving the information you will be regularly sending them.

If your style of writing is clear and authoritative on your subject, then you have a good chance of persuading them to do so. There is more to building a good list than simply getting your form filled in. You have to prove that you can provide the goods, and nurture your members so that they believe you to be useful to them. It is a two way process that many list builders sometimes forget. It's not just what they can do for you. To them, it's what you can do for them.
